There has been a factory on the Royal Stafford site since 1787, it is one of the oldest factories in Burslem and belonged for two centuries to the Wedgwood family. Edward Challinor took over the running of the factory in 1819, he rebuilt the current Royal Stafford factory in 1869 with all the latest improvements of machinery and appliances, the jiggers all being driven by steam. The eclectic range is inspired by nature and designed in honour of Edward Challinor. Made in fine English earthenware
